She said that the government had been engaging with Apple over the past two years as Pakistan’s digital landscape continued to develop.
Khawaja congratulated Dar on his appointment and said she hoped the new role would strengthen engagement between Apple and Pakistan, create a “win-win situation” and expand the company’s presence in the country.
Dar also announced his appointment in a LinkedIn post, saying he had started his new role as Head of Government Affairs – Pakistan at Apple.
“In this role, I will lead government affairs in Pakistan, supporting the company’s engagement with regulators, policymakers, and key stakeholders,” he said.
Khawaja also thanked Omar El Rifai, Apple’s Director of Government Affairs for the Middle East and Pakistan, for his support during the process.
