Pakistan’s men’s volleyball team beat China 3-0 in the bronze medal match at the Asian Games 2026 on Saturday to win their first Asian Games medal in the sport since 1962.

Pakistan won 25-18, 25-16 and 25-18 in 67 minutes. Their only previous Asian Games volleyball medal was a bronze at Jakarta in 1962.

Pakistan opened the tournament with a 3-1 win over Kazakhstan and a 3-0 win over Uzbekistan. They lost 3-0 to hosts Japan in their last pool match and finished second in Pool A.

In the quarter-final, Pakistan beat India 3-0, winning 25-19, 25-23 and 25-18. Khan Murad scored 19 points and Ali Usman Faryad added 13.

Defending champions Iran beat Pakistan 3-0 in the semi-final, winning 25-13, 25-15 and 25-11. That result sent Pakistan into the bronze medal match against China.

The medal takes Pakistan’s tally at the Games to eight with two silver and six bronze.
