by PNN Author

An audio recording purportedly featuring former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur has surfaced wherein he can be heard threatening to expose his successor CM Sohail Afridi over an alleged political deal, and accusing him of obstructing meetings with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.

“Control your tongue. Don’t talk nonsense like this here,” the man reports claimed to be Gandapur can be heard as saying in the recording, addressing Afridi and accusing him of making statements that threatened party unity.

“We are trying to cooperate and remain silent,” he added, warning Afridi that he would reveal how he came to power, the conditions under which he assumed office and who had brought him into the position.

The man further alleged that Afridi had been expected to lead the protests on November 26, 2025, but did not proceed because he had been “managed” and had struck a deal with unnamed parties.

He also accused Afridi of preventing meetings with Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s daughter, alleging that communications involving Afridi and those who had facilitated his appointment could substantiate his claims.

“Imran Khan’s meetings were stopped by you,” he alleged, claiming to have records of messages exchanged after Bushra Bibi’s communications reached those who had helped bring Afridi into office.

He further accused the KP CM of “political fixing” and warned that he would make the alleged evidence public.

“If I bring out all these records and speak, you will not be able to show your face anywhere,” he warned, claiming to possess records of “every single thing”.

The former chief minister also purportedly accused Afridi of abandoning Bushra Bibi during the November 2025 protests, questioning his conduct “in terms of Pashtun identity and honour”.

The recording has surfaced amid PTI’s ongoing long march towards Islamabad, which began on October 4, under CM Afridi’s leadership.

Gandapur recently turned his convoy back from Yarik in Dera Ismail Khan, citing road blockades and security concerns, while insisting that the decision was temporary and in line with party leadership’s instructions.

The development follows his earlier criticism of the march’s postponement, which he said had weakened PTI’s momentum
