Mushahid Hussain backs Tucker Carlson’s Iran nuclear strike claims, cites intel from two Muslim countries

Journalist and politician Mushahid Hussain has backed American political commentator Tucker Carlson’s claims that Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu is pressurising President of US Donald Trump to launch a nuclear strike on Iran, saying that intelligence agencies of two Muslim countries have verified the allegations and conveyed them to Tehran.

Speaking on a programme hosted by journalist Hamid Mir, Mushahid Hussain said that the plan also involved the possible use of tactical nuclear weapons, also known as battlefield nuclear weapons.

“Netanyahu may launch an attack on Iran in coordination with Trump to remain in power. This is not just a plan for war. Their plan also involves using nuclear weapons. This is a dangerous development,” he said.

Responding to Hamid Mir’s reference to Carlson’s claims that Netanyahu was repeatedly pressuring Trump to attack Iran, Mushahid Hussain said intelligence agencies of two important Muslim countries had verified the information.

“Two important Muslim countries’ intelligence agencies have confirmed this,” he stated, adding that Iran had also been informed about the alleged intentions.

When Mir asked whether the reported plans involved a nuclear attack, Mushahid Hussain referred to the possible use of “tactical nuclear weapons” or “battlefield nuclear weapons”.

“They have informed the Iranian leadership that these intentions are being formed and that they should remain alert and find a way to prevent this new war because anything could happen in it,” he added.

Carlson made the allegations in a post on X, claiming that Netanyahu was pressing Trump to launch a nuclear strike on Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain, which he alleged housed underground nuclear facilities.

He also claimed that conventional US weapons could not reach the underground tunnels and that a nuclear strike was the only military option. However, Carlson did not provide independently verifiable evidence to support the allegations and cited an unnamed informed observer.

Carlson further linked Netanyahu’s alleged push for an attack to his political position following the recent Israeli elections, claiming that he needed Trump’s intervention to remain in power.
