The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has dismantled an international child sexual abuse network in which a father allegedly made and sold explicit videos of his own children.
NCCIA Additional Director Mohammad Shoaib Khan told a press conference in Islamabad on Sunday that the case was the first in Pakistan’s history in which a father had been found involved in such a crime against his minor children.
Khan alleged that the suspect made indecent videos of his children, aged between four and five, and sold them through secret Telegram groups using cryptocurrency. The investigation also uncovered footage showing animal abuse, he added.
The alleged ringleader, a resident of Skardu, was arrested with the assistance of international agencies, Khan confirmed. Investigators recovered evidence and identified links in Islamabad, Multan and South Punjab, while raids were under way to arrest other members of the network.
“Those involved in such heinous crimes will be brought to justice,” Khan declared.
In another case, the NCCIA arrested four suspects over an alleged child sexual abuse network after examining around 60 videos recovered from a child’s mobile phone, Khan said.
He alleged that a suspect befriended children aged between six and 14 on Instagram, lured them with money and made indecent videos that were later sold internationally through WhatsApp groups.
Khan added that two Chinese nationals had previously been convicted in a similar crime.
He also disclosed that a minor girl in Karachi had attempted suicide after facing prolonged harassment. The girl was receiving hospital treatment, while the agency arrested the main suspect in Islamabad within 13 hours with the help of her family, he said. The suspect had allegedly harassed and blackmailed the girl for two to three years.
“Providing justice to the affected families is our top priority. Strict implementation of a zero-tolerance policy against those harassing women and children is being ensured,” Khan said.
