Indian fielders Rahul Tewatia and Kulwant Khejroliya appeared to recreate one of Pakistan’s best-known fielding mishaps during India’s Hong Kong Sixes 2026 match against the UAE.

A video of the moment is circulating on social media.

The original moment came in the third ODI of Pakistan’s 2008 series against the West Indies in the UAE. Chris Gayle gave a simple chance to Ajmal or Malik. Both fielders ended up watching the ball while it dropped between them. The clip became a lasting meme.

Ajmal has spoken about it himself. He said that he feels embarrassed whenever he watches the clip, but is glad fans remember him for something.

It merits a mention that India lost to the UAE by six wickets in the final Group C match, which ended Pakistan’s chances of reaching the Cup semi-finals.

The tournament places teams in three brackets based on their group results. Group winners play for the Cup, runners-up enter the Plate, and third-place teams go to the Bowl. The UAE, Australia, Scotland and Afghanistan contest the Cup semi-finals.

Pakistan beat hosts Hong Kong in the second Plate semi-final and now play in the Plate final against Oman.
